The elegance of Rolex. We are pleased to present an excellent example of the Rolex Oyster Precision, reference 6426, perfectly preserved since its birth in 1972 and featuring a rare and sought-after “Linen Dial.”

Timeless, in excellent condition, wearable daily, and featuring a distinctive dial, this Oyster Precision reference 6426 is the perfect watch to start a vintage Rolex collection!

The movement of reference 6426, a mechanical manual-winding, allows for a particularly thin and elegant case, as it does not need to accommodate the bulky oscillating weight of automatic calibers.

The case back is engraved with the watch’s reference and the inscription “II.72,” indicating production during the 2nd quarter of 1972, which perfectly matches the watch’s serial number (304xxxx, production in 1972).

The main feature of our model is the presence of a rare and desirable dial, known as the “Linen Dial.” Indeed, the pattern covering the dial, with irregular crosshatching, resembles the texture of linen fabric – perfect for summer! Moreover, in excellent overall condition, with well-present luminescent dots that have developed a beautiful, uniform patina, this dial adds a lot of charm to our Rolex Oyster Precision. A domed plexiglass crystal further enhances this sense of elegance typical of vintage models.

This Precision 6426 is equipped with a steel Rolex Oyster bracelet with folded links, reference 7835/19, end links 357. This rare bracelet, in excellent condition, is now sought after by collectors. Indeed, beyond its “vintage charm,” this reference was also used by Rolex for the famous Cosmograph Daytona! Additionally, the steel bracelet is very easy to remove – anyone can do it with a simple small tool. This allows the owner of this watch to change its look easily and quickly, by wearing it, for example, on a leather, alligator, rubber, or even a fabric NATO strap.

This watch is powered by the very reliable and durable Rolex caliber 1225 with 17 jewels. Following a complete overhaul by one of our watchmakers specializing in vintage Rolex models, our example now offers impeccable chronometric performance. During this service, the barrel spring and plexiglass crystal were also replaced with new ones, for ideal durability and wearing comfort.

Excellent overall condition.

The stainless steel case is well-preserved, and the satin finish on the lugs is sharp. The polished mirror smooth bezel shows no significant dings or dents. The engravings between the lugs (model number and serial number) are particularly well-preserved and readable.

The case back is in perfect condition and corresponds absolutely to this watch (1972).

The very beautiful Linen dial is flawless, and the luminescent dots at the ends of the indices are present, round, and have developed a beautiful patina – which is also found on the original hands, characteristic of the reference.

The steel Rolex Oyster bracelet with folded links is in excellent condition for its age and shows almost no “stretch.” The engravings on the blades of the clasp are precise. The Rolex crown stamped on the clasp is prominent and crisp.
